The Fire Island Synagogue, founded in 1954, plays a vital role in our community. FIS transcends denomination, blending familiar elements of Conservative Judaism with the innovation of contemporary religious practice and welcomes congregants and visitors from all backgrounds and traditions. Our lecture series and adult education classes enrich our summer experience and our holiday celebrations and social activities have made this a warm and inviting home for generations of Fire Islanders.
It is our collective responsibility to ensure that the Fire Island Synagogue continues to thrive for generations to come.
